Children’s Hospital @ Walter Reed Building 52 & Building 53
Steel Window Restoration, Window Restoration
This project involved the restoration of windows in two of Walter Reed’s historic buildings. Building 52 underwent a comprehensive restoration process, which included the complete removal of wood windows (sash and frames) for full restoration. This process involved reglazing of glass, stripping to bare wood, restoring wood elements, and refurbishing all interior woodwork such as window trim, stools, aprons, and historic hardware. On the other hand, Building 53 required the complete onsite restoration of steel windows and hardware, along with replacement glass and glazing.
