US Capitol Dome Rehabilitation
Steel Window Restoration, Hardware Restoration, Door Restoration, Railing Restoration
Regeneracy successfully restored 72 windows of the US Capitol Dome. Glass was meticulously removed from each sash, numbered, old film replaced with new film, and glass reglazed back into its original opening. All frames underwent a thorough restoration process including finish removal, wood damage repairs, caulking, and painting.
Additional Work Completed
Peristyle doors were temporarily removed, with restored doors and hardware reinstalled after necessary repairs and replication of missing hardware.
The existing spiral bullfinch stair railings, wood skylight, cupola railings, and peristyle railings were stripped, dutchmaned, and refinished to their original glory.
A new railing, replicating the existing wood railing, was expertly installed in place of the old secondary pipe railing in the bullfinch stair.
